John Forrest National Park in Western Australia is the place to go if you want to see natural bush land which is found in Western Australia.
History
It is one of Australia’s oldest conservation areas and was Western Australia’s first national park. It is located on the Northern edge of ‘The Hills Forest and is twenty eight kilometres east of Perth city. This area was first established in the year 1898 as a reserve which conserves its many natural and cultural features. In the early 1900’s visitors came from Perth by a train to enjoy a day in the beautiful bush land. In the 193O’s, sometimes known as ‘The Time of the Great Depression,’ sustenance workers built areas for people’s personal needs and enjoyment. In 1947 it was named John Forrest National Park in honour of a famous Western Australian explorer and statesman.
What to do
This great place provides magnificent views of the Swan river coastal plain and contains walk trails through rugged wilderness, along the old railway or to quiet pools and spectacular waterfalls. John Forrest National Park has two beautiful waterfalls, with crystal blue water. One called Hovea falls and the other National Park Falls. It is a short walk to both waterfalls along a walk trail, which goes through natural bush land. There are also walk trails to other places such as rocky pool and you can go hiking along the John Forrest heritage trail. It is the perfect place for sightseeing, picnicking, bush walking, photography, camping in park, mountain biking, horse riding and has areas for the disabled.
