Pink Lake Senegal
Visiting the Pink Lake is another touristy thing to do
The pink lake is a shallow lake in which people wade up to their waists to collect salt. The lake is actually pink as the name implies. People from neighboring countries (e.g. Mali) are sometimes hired as seasonal workers.

Digging tools are utilized to break the salt since it is in crystal form in the lake bed.
Thereafter, they use a basket to collect the salt.
The salt is then carried to the shore.
