My name is K Garrett im a diver from the uk I have over 1500 dives under my belt and on diving in Finalhohi I can tell you it’s a matter of time before some one dies there. In a two week period I made three rescues one was a diver at 30m that lost all orientation so I had to make a emergency lift the other was a diver that lost buoyancy at 30m and started for the surface inverted all this can happen any where but the third was when the dive master planed the dive we where to follow and instructed us to keep the reef left shoulder on dropping on to the reef it was obvious there was no way we where going to go left shoulder to the reef we where 30m down the boat had left before we left the surface so there was no returning to the boat the current was running at around 6knot so we went with the flow on surfacing we found all 11 other divers inc the dive master the sea was breaking at about 3m it was rough . On looking for the boat it was no wear to be seen then some one pointed it out, in the distance you could just about make it out it was roughly about 2 miles away and we where getting further by the minute the dive leader spoke German to the other 10 divers and then turned her back to the others. Looky for me with diving in the uk I always dive with a rescue flag I unpacked it set it up and even with a 1.5 m red flag on a 2m pole it took 20min to spot us . I received no thanks has you would expect from the supper race, but please use your head don’t go to this island it unsafe.
