Rock climbing at Nahouri Mountain

Rock climbing at Nahouri Mountain
Located about 15 kilometers from Paga, the mountain attracts international rock climbers and bushwalkers alike. The cycling trip, past traditional adobe huts, sun bleached fields and farmers ploughing the soil, is well worth the time and energy required to reach the base of the mountain. The climb may be approached from the more gentle slopes to the east, a thirty minute scramble over stony ground and boulders, with a basic level of fitness, or by scaling the horizontal rock face with full rock climbing equipment. Whichever the choice, seated on the granite like plateau located at the summit, the scenic beauty and spectacular views of the surrounding plains of savanna grasslands, millet fields and ancient baobab trees stretching towards the horizon unfold, making the experience a memorable one.
