Burkina Faso Introduction

“Burkina Faso” means : “Upright men’s country”.
Formerly Upper Volta, my country was named so during the révolution in 1984 by Thomas Sankara.
Our économy is based on breeding of bovine and ovine as well as on cultivation of cotton and peanut.
There are 71 languages listed for 7 ethnic groups ( Mossi, Gurunsi, Senufo, Lobi, Bobo, Mande and Fulani )

Area : 275 000 km2 populations ( July 1999 ) : 11 575 898 Capital : Ouagadougou
